Email:  thauge@wingsinsurance.com Tom brings 20 years of aviation experience to his clients which has included a background in general aviation and commercial airline management. Upon graduation from the University of North Dakota in 1992, Tom returned to his native Boston and went to work in the corporate world and also on a part-time seasonal basis ferrying light general aviation aircraft from the northeast region down to the southern coastal states. In early 1995 he left his east coast roots behind to pursue an airline career with a Minneapolis, Minnesota based charter airline. Tom’s airline career spanned 8+ years with two Minnesota based charter air carriers in Technical Operations capacities. Prior to leaving the airline business in 2002 for Wings Insurance Agency, Tom’s responsibilities were focused on directing 737-800 aircraft acquisitions and managing DC-10, B727 and B737 fleet operations. Tom holds a BS Degree in Aeronautical Studies /AS Degree in Aviation Management/Flight Technology and is a licensed aviation insurance broker. He has logged fixed wing flight time in primarily light general aviation and single engine turbo-prop aircraft. Additionally, Tom has  completed P121pilot ground school for two air transport category aircraft (B727-200ADV & DC10-15). Tom holds a commercial pilot license with multi-engine and instrument ratings and currently operates a Mooney M20S for company business. Tom’s primary responsibilities are in managing large commercial and corporate programs to include FBO operations and jet fleet accounts.  Another chief responsibility is in new business development and marketing for these programs and assessing innovative training arrangements to enhance customer service and program insurability.  Tom chairs the agency’s internal research and development programs designed to assist in our customers and the industry's transition to the very light jet market.  He is a strong product knowledge resource regarding heavy jet, airline and large fleet operations. Tom is actively involved and holds current membership in the NBAA, POPA (Pilatus PC12) and TBMOPA (TBM700/850). Tom currently resides with his fiancé in Chaska, Minnesota. His interests include friends, fitness, fly fishing and University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey.
