Aircraft Insurance [PDF 60KB]

An aircraft insurance application must be completed for each aircraft in which coverages are requested. Additionally, a pilot experience form will generally accompany an aircraft insurance application for each of the named pilots on the policy.

Helpful information for completing this application:

It is essential to include in Section 6 (Aircraft) the general airworthiness information such as engine hours (since new and since major overhaul), airframe hours and the date (month/year) of the last annual. If the aircraft is a multi-engine airplane, be certain to include the engine information for each engine denoted by its position (ie L or R).

In Section 7 (Base Airport) be sure to include information pertaining to the aircraft’s base airport such as it’s ICAO three letter identifier and runway information to include the length of the longest runway, whether the runway is paved or turf and if the base airport is a public or private facility.

The aircraft hull insured value should be completed. Hull values may vary significantly from “Blue Book” so be prepared to substantiate the requested hull insured value.

If the aircraft is subject to a lien be sure and include the Lien holder’s name, address and the current lien amount in the space provided.

Section 2. Aircraft/Aircraft Operations Section

The listing of questions in Section 2 requires a yes/no response but if any of these are answered “yes” be sure to provide details on the back of the application or on a separate sheet of paper. Failure to provide this detailed information will delay processing.

Please be certain to sign and date the application as the original form will be required to be submitted to the insurer once coverages are bound.
